Absolutely Normal Things That Have Terrified Me, A Coward

is that my coat on my chair or is a murderer happy to see me

When I am very sure my shower curtain wasn’t closed earlier

My husband said something he would definitely say, in a way he would definitely say it, but it sounded just a TINY bit different so now I will spend a solid ten minutes wondering if he’s actually possessed or an evil twin

Whenever a large body of water is on TV, there might be a shark in it

There might be something worse than a shark in it

I know I live in an apartment and I can hear every door down all 12 floors but if a door slams hard and I’m in the bathroom, maybe it was MY door and maybe I’m about to be murdered

Dolls. Any dolls. But that’s normal, right? Who wouldn’t be terrified of dolls.

I’m playing a video game and I’m staring right at the bad guy I’m supposed to fight but whenever he moves I’m startled anyway

Sometimes my hair moves when I’m not expecting it to

Whenever she had one of those weird, out of nowhere shudders my mom would say a ghost just went through her. I have actually looked up the medical name for those shudders (myoclonic jerks), I know they’re a real thing, but do you think maybe a ghost DID just go through me?

There has to be a way for me to get out of bed without putting my feet down where something under the bed could grab my heels

My work windows are incredibly reflective and sometimes I see myself in them

Staring at myself too long in the mirror (what if mirror-me moves????)

...what if mirror-me moves when I’m NOT looking in the mirror?
